John Mooney

Tony Brooke has recorded John Mooney multiple times. On 4/28/1994, Tony recorded the 1994 Ivory Blues Revue (A Tribute to James Carroll Booker III), which took place at the club called The Eiffel Tower in New Orleans. Tony also supplied the feed to the live broadcast on WWOZ-FM. On the all-star bill that night was Contraband (featuring John Mooney, Jon Cleary, Johnny Vidacovich, and James Singleton), Eddie Bo, Jon Cleary, Frankie Ford, Davell Crawford, John Mooney, Ernie K-Doe, Leigh "Li'l Queenie" Harris, Barbara Shorts, Linda Young, Big Al Carson, Tom McDermott, and Jazz Resurrection with the Algiers Brass Band.

This show was part of a series of New Orleans Jazz Festival live broadcasts and recordings for radio station WWOZ-FM.

Over twenty years later on 11/2/2014, Tony Brooke recorded John Mooney and his band Bluesiana at the Great American Music Hall for an upcoming live album. John tore it up with a three-hour show of New Orleans-influenced Delta blues and his famous slide guitar chops. The 24-track multitrack recording utilized the RADAR V recorder and mic preamps by Millennia Media, ATI and Focusrite.
