I have just tried to open up an excel file which contains some product catelogue from my windows desktop and I realised that the images of the excel doc had been auto rescaled (not in proportion).

I have already double checked the original file in my desktop and the images are perfectly ok. I am using Office 2004 for mac and 2002 for windows. Other than the distorted images, everything else works fine.

Can anyone advise me on what went wrong? Is there any setting that I have missed out?

I'm struggling with Excel Mac-PC compatibility problems right now too. It's a drag, particularly with Fonts and Buttons.

I imagine the picture is placed as an "object"? If so, select the object, go to Format-->Object-->Size and check "Lock Aspect Ratio". Also fiddle with "relative to original picture size" and the "Properties" tab.

Object? I don't think so. I used "insert picture" to add in the image. The image has been scaled in Windows Excel. Under the image properties, the "lock aspect ratio" has not been checked. :) Hope that is the key to the solution.

Let me try out with your suggestion... will get back on whether it is successful or not!

Ok... tried out the "lock ratio" option. Doesn't work :(
Anymore suggestions/solution?
