How to automatically open docs in Preview, not adobe
Wed, 01/18/2006 - 14:39
When I used to open documents, they would automatically open in preview. I somehow screwed that up and now it opens in Adobe, which takes longer than preview. Any help on fixing it so that documents do not automatically open and launch in Adobe, but rather preview?

This isn't hard to change. Select a pdf file in the Finder. Hit "Command-I" or go to the File Menu and select "Get Info".
In the Get Info window that appears, see the "Open With" section (This may vary slightly depending on your version of the Mac OS, and you might need to toggle open that section of the window).
Use the pop-up menu to select the application that you'd like to use (in this case, Preview). You also have the option to "Change All" files of this type to open with the selected app.
