noisy mac
my mac has started getting noisy recently, making clicking noises whenever it does anything. anyone know something about this?
It's hard to tell without more info. Could be your hard drive or your fan. Try taking it apart or listening more closely to see what part of the mac it's coming from.
Ah, if it's a PowerBook, I wouldn't suggest opening it up. The first time I opened a PowerBook was not fun. If the clicking noises happen every time the hard drive is accessed, you should get it checked out by a pro becasue your hard drive might be in trouble.
First, BACK UP YOUR DATA!!!! I can't stress this enough. Did I mention you should BACK UP YOUR DATA?!?!?! Tips on that subject:

Then take it to your local Mac repair place. If there's an Apple Store near you, take it there for a free opinion. If you don't have one where you live, check out: PowerBook ResQ.
thanks. only problem is that I never opened a computer before. I`m like the guy who drives his car but never looks under the hood. Is it difficult? I got a powerbook.
