Original Alesis BRC work with the M20?

Does the original Alesis BRC remote work with the Alesis M20 recorder?

I'm not entirely sure, but here's some clues.
According to this M20 software history (pdf), the M20 was first released in 1998. (But that never mentions the BRC.)
Next, according to my own info (from around that era), the BRC had it's software updated as recently as 10/2000. So it's possible...
But I don't remember if the BRC specifically works with the BRC. I'd say it's only possible if your BRC has the latest software. Call them, because I don't see the BRC on their download page:

It may not need to necessarily match, as they didn't always release updates for each model simultaneously. But if they are each updated to whatever the latest (and I'm 99% sure the last) version, you've got the best odds of compatibility.
But there would definitely be serious limitations anyway. The BRC only ran at 48k (as I recall, I'm only 85% sure of that). And the BRC would never be able to access the M20's advanced functions (timecode, etc.). But hey, maybe it could serve as a huge version of the LRC remote. In the end, the mini LRC remote might be your fallback option.
