Urgent Audio Help Needed RE: MiniDisc
Fri, 01/07/2005 - 14:10
Hello, my name is Jesse Perry. I'm an aspiring stand-up comic in the Nashville area.
I got back my MiniDisc from a set I did in Jackson, and I want to use it as part of my press kit. The tape is a Memorex MD 80. How on Earth can I burn this to CD? I don't have the player that it was recorded with (I believe it was a Sony, but not sure of the brand). I think I could crack the case open, and just put the disc straight into the CD drive, but I'd hate to ruin the recording.
ANY advice would be MUCH appreciated. PLEASE HELP!

Don't crack it open. While that would undoubtedly provide future material for a pretty funny comedy bit about technological confusion, it would indeed ruin the recording. It's a completely different format, which requires an actual minidisc player.
Try to rent a minidisc player from an equipment rental house in Nashville, or better yet, take it to a local recording studio or mastering studio and have them spruce up the sound at the same time.
