Opcode Studio 3 MIDI interface

The modem port is the preferred port on this classic MIDI interface. When attempting to backup the memory of my digital mixer via MIDI, I discovered that the printer port blocked system common messages, in particular the system exclusive messages that contained the memory data which I was backing up. System Exclusive messages are System Common Data, similar to MIDI timecode (DTL) in that it is not sent on a particular channel.

Also remember that the modem port sends out MIDI data on ports 1-3 and the Printer port sends out data on 4-6.

Opcode has long ago stopped making the Studio 3, but you might be able to get answers about it via Opcode Tech Support, the Opcode forum (at parent company Gibson), or by contacting Opcode directly.
